Food and beverage delivery is ruthlessly time-sensitive
A late delivery means a restaurant without prep stock, a warm load of perishables, or a catering event without product. Manual routing cannot handle the complexity.
Narrow Delivery Windows
Restaurants need product before prep starts. Caterers need it before the event. Miss a 30-minute window and the entire order is rejected or wasted.
Temperature Sensitivity
Frozen, refrigerated, and ambient products on the same truck. Every extra minute on the road degrades quality and risks food safety violations.
High Stop Density
Dozens of restaurants, bars, and stores packed into tight urban zones. Without optimized sequencing, drivers backtrack constantly and burn hours.
Seasonal Volume Spikes
Holidays, event seasons, and summer surges can double your order volume overnight. Static routes break when demand fluctuates unpredictably.
Built for food and beverage delivery workflows
Import your orders, set delivery constraints, and let Drivant build the fastest routes that respect every time window and stop requirement.
Import Orders from Any System
Drop in Excel or CSV exports from your POS, distributor platform, or order management system. Drivant auto-detects addresses, delivery windows, and order details. No reformatting needed — it works the same way described in our multi-stop route planning guide.
Optimize with Strict Time Windows
Set delivery deadlines per stop based on restaurant prep schedules, event times, or store opening hours. The optimizer sequences every route to hit every window while cutting total miles.
Schedule Around Restaurant Hours
See projected arrival times for every stop across every route. Plan deliveries around kitchen prep windows, receiving dock hours, and event setup times before a single truck leaves the warehouse.
Export Driver Manifests
Generate print-ready manifests with stop sequence, addresses, delivery notes, and ETAs. Export to Excel, CSV, or GPX for GPS devices. Every driver gets exactly what they need to stay on schedule.
One platform, every food and beverage delivery type
Whether you are distributing produce or delivering kegs, Drivant handles the routing.
Restaurant Supply
Route multi-stop deliveries to restaurants with tight morning windows, loading dock constraints, and varied order sizes.
Catering Delivery
Coordinate time-critical catering drops to event venues, offices, and private functions with exact arrival windows.
Grocery & Produce
Plan distribution routes for fresh produce, dairy, and groceries where every hour on the road impacts shelf life and quality.
Beverage Distribution
Sequence high-density keg, case, and bottle deliveries to bars, restaurants, and retail accounts across urban and suburban zones. For even denser urban parcel routes, see last mile delivery optimization.
A typical day with Drivant
It is 3:00 AM at your cold storage facility. The dispatch manager imports 175 orders from last night's POS cutoff into Drivant. Fourteen restaurants need deliveries before 6:00 AM prep starts, so she sets hard time windows on those stops. A catering company added a last-minute 200-person event order due by 9:00 AM, so she creates a dedicated route for that stop and the two nearby restaurant drops. She clicks "Build Routes" and Drivant assigns the remaining stops across seven drivers by delivery zone, sequencing each route to minimize time on the road. One route shows a projected 6:15 AM arrival at a restaurant with a 6:00 AM cutoff. She moves that stop to an adjacent driver's lighter route and the ETA drops to 5:40 AM. By 3:30 AM, manifests are printed with restaurant names, order details, dock instructions, and ETAs. Refrigerated trucks begin rolling out at 4:00 AM. By 10:00 AM, 168 of 175 deliveries are complete. The remaining seven are on a suburban route that finishes before noon. Total planning time from import to dispatch: 25 minutes.
